Nick Ascot grew up in Texas, where he graduated
from University of Texas at Austin with a degree
in Classical Chinese Language & Political
Science. He has lived and worked in SE Asia
- primarily Thailand & Laos - for nearly
20 years.
Nick is fluent
in Lao and Thai. He loves language and if you
ever have the chance to be on a trip with him,
you'll see that he is very much the extrovert.
He talks to everyone and as a result has friends
in all parts of Thailand and Laos.
His main focus
in life is to join people from different parts
of the world and show them that we're all the
same. His passion in life is making sure people
are cared for and happy. Nick's compassion is
a shining star in a sea of apathy.
Jason
Rolan - Manager of Luang Prabang Office
 Jason
is one of those rare individuals who puts 100%
into everything he does. This transplanted Texan
is fluent in both Thai and Lao. And, he's can
read and write both as well. He mastered both
languages in just over three years!
This talent allows
him to fit into Lao society with ease. Everyone
in Luang Prabang knows and loves Jason. Walking
down the street with him, you'd think he was
a celebrity... well, maybe he is.
Jason is currently
working on learning some of the languages of
the ethnic minorities.
