Laos Ethnic Groups of the
Far North Trip
Day 1 - Chaingkhong
- Huayxay - Xiengkok - Muangsing
Crossing the Mekong river (about 8’00 AM)
from Chaingkong (Chaingrai Province) to Borkeo
province for Lao immigration, then continue by
speed boat up the Mekong to Xiengkok small village
opposite Burma (passing the Golden Triangle).
Stop at Muangmueng Taileu village for lunch. Then
continue by Chinese bus to Muangsing. Visit Lantan
hill tribe village on the way. Overnight at Singchaleun
guest house.

Day 2 - Muansing
After Breakfast, take a drive about 12 Km on the
direction to China border, then have a little
walk to visit Yao villages( indigenous to Chinese).
Visit some Tailue Buddhist temple style. Have
lunch at local restaurant. Afternoon visit Akha
hill tribe village (originally indigenous to Tibet).

Day 3 - Muangsing
- Udomxay
In the morning visit the local market where you
can experience the local trading style. The market
is filled with hill tribes including the Taidam,
Hmong, Tailue, Akha and Yao. Take a drive to Udomxai
by Chinese bus. Stop for picture at Ban Korakhammay.
Visit Ban Thongdi (the weaving village with silk
worm and natural dying from the leaves). Have
lunch at Ban Natue. Overnight at Muangsay or Vongpachit
guesthouse.

Day 4 - Udomxai
- Luangprabang
Take a drive through mountainous roads to Luangprabang.
Visit Ban Songcha, the Hmong hill tribe village
and Pak Ou holly cave. Have lunch at Ban Pak Ou
village. Then, continue to Luangprabang. Free
time.

Day
5 - Luangprabang (UNESCO World Heritage town)
Visit the formear royal palace, Wat Xiengthong
(the most beautiful temple in town with Luangprabang
temple style), Wat Visoon (watermelon stupa with
the Khmer style), Phousi mountain (238 steps with
overview of Luangprabang), and Ban Sangkong village
(paper making from mulberry tree). Overnight at
the very nice Parasol Blanc hotel.

Day
6 - Luangprabang - Bangkok
05:00 am leaving hotel to see monks collecting
food along the street. 06:00 visit local fresh
market. 07:00 back to hotel for breakfast. Free
time for you to shop until it is time for the
airport transfer to Bangkok.
